You won't recover them by searching the bodies, you'll need to walk over them to pick them back up. Crafting them is resource intensive, it'll take you forever if you have to craft every time you throw a spear. TIP - I believe that your takedowns will count towards the kill count. You can see your selected weapon being used for the takedown.
If I or another player confirm this, I'll update the solution. Do you have a question about this achievement? Please post it in the Far Cry Primal Forum. Expand Expand. Screenshots Videos. Release Date: 2 22 , Follow Far Cry Primal on:. Far Cry Primal is rated. You May Also Like. This is so that every time you collect a resource, you don't have to watch Takkar doing it.
It will save you a lot of time, and makes it possible to collect resources while fighting. There is an option to turn Hunter Vision on infinite. If you don't want to have to hit a button every twenty seconds while you're trying to find something it's a good choice. Just hit the button again when you want to turn it off. The music in Far Cry Primal can keep you from hearing important information and prompts. If you're trying to play using stealth in expert mode it's a good idea to turn it off, under Audio.
Hopefully there will be a patch in the future that allows you to adjust the music volume. If you want to turn the FPS counter off, this can be done by clicking on Ubisoft Club, then settings at the top right. There are many other settings there you may find helpful. After Sayla's first mission Deep Wounds you can craft the spear.
The spear is the most versatile weapon in the game. When thrown it will take out most enemies in one shot, and can be used from a short distance when you draw and lunge.
This is great for keeping mobs at distance while doing melee damage. If you work on upgrading the spear and spear belt early you will have a much easier time playing the game in hard or expert mode. The spear is your cruise missile. Before you can tame animals you must find Tensay.
Until you do you will be vulnerable to animal attacks. There are more wolves and predetors at night, so travel by day if possible. Any opportunity to sleep in a camp until dawn should be taken. Make sure if you clear a bonfire of enemies, you light it afterward. If you fail to do so the enemies will return, you will not receive any experience, and you will not be able to fast travel to that location.
After his first quest you will have an Owl for scouting, and after the second you will have a White Wolf and gain the taming ability. You need two deer skin for Sayls's hut, and four wolf skin for Tensay's hut to progress further in the story line. You may also want to hunt some Dholes, you will need about ten of their skins for early upgrades on your Quiver, Club Belt, and Guts Bag. Dholes are very easy to kill with a single hand club and some bait. On Wogah's first mission you get the grappling hook, and have the opportunity to tame a Jaguar trapped in a cave.
Make sure you dismiss it afterward, or it will die trying to follow you. All over Ooros you will spot paintings of a white bird on a rock. These are markers for the grappling hook. Most of the time the connector will be above you, but occasionally it will be on the ground and drop you into a cave. Any vines that glow yellow on rocks with Hunter Vision can be used to climb.
To climb down simply walk off the rock where they are growing, and you will automatically spin and grab. After you build Wogah's hut you can craft the trap.
It does high damage and can be used to kill almost anything in the beginning of the game. After Wogah has joined your tribe, it's time to get Karoosh. When you go north to find him keep your eye out for the ingredients to upgrade the spear and craft the long bow, your two most important weapons. Even if you can't craft them yet, you can still see the resources you need to construct weapons by scrolling over them on the menu. The area where he is located is also a good place to find Yak to upgrade your Guts Bag.
Karoosh's best contributions to the game are his take down skills. These along with Quiet Sprint and Crouching Sprint make stealth kills fun. Combine that with the Berserk Shard and Berserk Bomb and you can take down even the most difficult areas of the game alone. On Jayma's first mission you will end up tracking a bear on an island. It is not necessary to kill the bear.
If you tame it instead, Jayma will make fun of you for "finding a new friend. Take notice of this area, located south of Payska River Outpost. Here you can find monkeys, woolly rhinos, and jaguars, all of which you will need for important upgrades.
It has a good supply of southern rock dust along the shore. Rock dust is used for the final upgrades on your bow, club, and spear. There is a campsite near by which works as a fast travel point. Near the campsite you can find Sabretooth Tigers , the fastest pet in the game. It becomes a mount after you get Karoosh's Beast Rider skill.
After you speak to Jayma in the village, you will be able to craft a sling and long bow if you have the ingredients. The long bow comes fully upgraded and is a big improvement over the regular bow.
At first the sling doesn't do damage, but when upgraded has the ability to kill with a head shot, and break the face mask off of heavily armored targets. There is an achievement through Uplay if you use it to kill ten enemies. It has unlimited ammo and is good for distractions from stealth and getting sacks out of trees. Jayma's tagging skills are extremely useful. They allow you to see targets through any kind of cover. Once a target is tagged you can command your pet to attack even when its not in your line of sight.
Before you go after Dah you may want to fully upgrade your spear, and acquire the Heavy Takedown skill. The Udam use poison gas which will kill you quickly if you dont get away. If you have trouble defeating the Big Darwa Fort where Dah is located, you should progress enough in the story line to finish the quest "Into Udam Land. This happens after Sayla's and Tensay's quests. Winter clothing is necessary for traveling in the north.
Fully upgraded you will have ample time to survive the cold, without it you will die quickly. Roshani can be challenging as well, the Izila fight with fire bombs. Make sure you have a good supply of meat and South Purple Leaf on hand for the Fireproof food recipe. That will heal you for two health bars and reduce fire damage for a limited time. Afterwards with Roshani's Fire Resistance skill the Izila will be easier to fight.
The following is a list of pets you can tame, and their special abilities. The rare animals are not listed. Every rare animal has the same ability but is stronger and has fire resistance. They do not have any extra abilities, just slightly higher stats than their regular counterpart. They do not have fire resistance. WOLF - Expands your vision on the maps, growls to warn you of danger. Revives itself from death one time. Your pet will be your tank and bodyguard.
When summoned they will charge in to protect you. They can be commanded to attack specific mobs or told to stay so you can scout ahead for improved stealth. You can command your pet using the owl, allowing Takkar to stay undetected for stealth bonuses. When you command the pet to return it will run to where Takkar is parked so he can heal it. If you are afraid of the pet drawing enemies to Takkar, have your owl or Takkar park him in a bush or behind cover.
Some quests can be completed just using your owl and pet while Takkar sits around. If any pet needs health and you are low on meat, simply STAND next to your dead prey and most of the time they will eat it. Each pet has its own unique ability. The Badger can be fun to travel with, especially early in the game. Its ability is being a very ferocious, annoying animal that nothing else in Ooros wants to mess with, not even the Mammoths or Woolly Rhinos.
With it you can run through the woods with reckless abandon knowing nothing will bother you, unless you get too far ahead. If something does attack you, as long as you don't fight back your Badger will rush in and scare them off. Unfortunately badgers don't scare the Izila or Udam, but make a difficult target for range attacks.
If you are stuck with an empty pack and need resources to craft weapons, call the Dhole to bring you more. They have an ability to gather resources when you're standing idle, and will fill your pack up with Flint, Hardwood , and Animal Hide. This works well towards the end of the game in hostile and remote areas, or if you're a vegetarian and don't want to hunt and skin animals.
If you are really lazy sleep in the game while the Wenja gather your resources. If you are determined to farm all your own, and want to do it quickly, call in the Wolf. They expand the minimap so you can see a much larger area and more resources as long as you have Sayla's minimap skills. They also reveal more of the world map for quests and collectibles nearby.
They are handy for keeping track of enemies or prey as well, allowing you to see them on the minimap at twice the normal distance. They have the ability to gather them while you're standing idle, and will fill the pack up. They also replace Green Leaf for healing and Blue Leaf for running and swimming fast.
They draw a lot of attention from enemies which gives you a better chance to get behind them and use take downs, great for attacking small groups. Once you have Karoosh's Beast Rider skill you can ride them, and while mounted you can still use your weapons and collect any resources you come across.
They can swim so they make a great boat for hunting bitefish and avoiding alligators. While crouching the Jaguar can be commanded to attack unsuspecting targets without alerting nearby enemies, excellent for stealth bonuses.
It is the most stealthy pet and rarely draws attention. If you're careful, at night you can sneak deep into enemy territories together without causing alarm. Used for hunting you can both get right next to targets without being noticed. In expert mode it can take down three or four enemy warriors before it runs out of health, even more one at a time. Once you have a target tagged you can see it through walls and behind cover.
If your owl can't tag enemies because they are in a cave or under ground call in the Cave Lion. They tag humanoids without line of sight. If you park them on top of a cave or in a hut they will make you aware of enemies through the ground or walls.
Keep in mind that once a target is tagged, you don't need line of sight to have your pet attack. If you aim directly at the tagged target your pet will travel fairly long distances into caves and behind cover. It is possible to have your Cave Lion kill all the enemies inside a cave while you sit outside.
Animal locations are marked on the world map. More predators can be found at night. If you are trying to find a particular animal and having trouble, go hunting with your Leopard.
They have the ability to uncover and tag animals without line of sight. They will even tag Bitefish. Once the animal is tagged you can find it anywhere. You don't need to dismiss your pet before taming another, but you may want to park it at a distance while you approach alone.
If your pet scares the prey and it escapes, once it's tagged it is easy to find again. The Leopard is great on quests when you have to clear other predators. If you want a big distraction, nothing draws attention like the Cave Bear. They will have all other enemies in the area attacking while you have the chance to take them down.
Be quick though, they are not indestructible and will die against large groups and elite targets. They are the strongest pet in the game until you start the Beastmaster quests.
For a good fight get a Woolly Rhino mad, and when the Cave Bear rushes to protect stand back and watch. All pets keep you safe as a passive ability. They will scare away threats, and if you are being attacked they will automatically defend you against enemies you're not attacking. The Sabretooth Tiger is the fastest, and one of the strongest pets in the game.
They will defend you very efficiently, taking down enemies quickly. Once you have Karoosh's Beast Rider skill, you can ride the Sabretooth while using your weapons and collecting resources.
In survival mode the aggression of wild animals has been ramped up. This means that if your pet is considerably weaker than the attacking animal, it may not be able to scare it off. The Badgers ability will still work, but to be effective in all situations you must take scent camouflage.
If predetors detect you before the Badger you will get attacked at least one time. Pets also die much easier on their own if you don't dismiss them before you swim or climb. They can easily fall or drown when they try to follow. Some time they may attack a target that is aggressive if you are running, so pay attention or they may stay back and die without you realizing what's going on.
All the pets other than epic pets Great Scar Bear, Bloodfang Sabretooth, and Snowblood Wolf will have less strength and health making them less effective and easier to kill.
This will make epic pets noticeably stronger and more resilient. If an epic pet dies, it is gone from the game. The only way to get it back is to start a new game. Your pet can be healed if it starts to die in combat, but if it dies it can't be revived. You must find another and tame it again.
In Permadeath mode it can be dangerous to tame a Sabretooth TIger or Cave Bear because you have to fight them to half health first. If they are too close they may not see the bait if they are charging you. Use traps and stay at a distance. Use hills or water if available so they can't catch you. If your pet dies you can shut down the game with CTL F4 or turn the power off on your console. You will lose your progress, but the game will start from the last save and your pet will be alive again.
You start the game with these skills. The following skills are recommended based on Expert mode play through. You don't have to get them in this order. The numbers after each are the amount of skill points needed to acquire them. Browse More Questions. Keep me logged in on this device. Forgot your username or password?
